In this project I was tasked to evaluate the quality of images intended for skin cancer diagnostics. This project was funded by IWT O&O, partners: Barco (Kortrijk), UGent, and hospitals in Ghent and Leuven.

In this project I was tasked to evaluate image fidelity based on a set of ad hoc characteristics which are defined by the application at hand. For example, 

• Color difference evaluation to eliminate color inconsistencies between views in multi camera broadcasting systems. Evaluation of color differences in natural scene color images

• Measuring contrast ratio changes in interventional x-ray. Content-aware contrast ratio measure for images

In this project I was tasked to evaluate the quality of compressed videos used for telesurgery.

In this project I was tasked to evaluate multiple texture analysis algorithms within the context of texture wear evaluation. This project was funded by CWO; fellowship between Ghent University, Universidad Antonio Nariño and Universidad Nacional de Colombia; and Ghent University, TELIN-IPI-iMinds.
